I Watch a Lot of WWII Documentaries: Hitler Derangement Syndrome Is Real
It's All "Mustache Man Bad" All The Time
Let me start out by saying that I’m no fan of Hitler. I realize he was a controversial figure who had a lot of rough edges. Also, he was prone to spout off, and he killed a lot of people. Stipulated.
But as someone who’s really into History and has watched a lot of WWII documentaries, I think there’s a lot of bias when it comes to how he’s portrayed by many of our elite, mainstream “historians.”
I’ve noticed that many of these so-called “experts” featured in these documentaries have a severe case of Hitler Derangement Syndrome. It’s like they’re so obsessed with how “evil” Hitler was that they lose all perspective and objectivity. My question is, where’s the nuance?
I mean sure, Hitler was a dictator, but there have been dictators all throughout History, from the time of Ancient Rome-another period I’m extremely familiar with- to Obama. So he’s not exactly special in that regard.
And it’s not like Hitler invented genocide, either. I mean, have you read the Old Testament? But somehow we’re supposed to love God and loath Hitler. Tell that to the Canaanites, or all those first born Egyptians that got slaughtered during the first Passover by an “Angel of God”, who, let me guess, was just “taking orders”. I mean, even God had henchmen to do His dirty work. It just goes to show you that Religion, like History, is written by the victors.
It just seems to me that these “historians” are so obsessed with how “bad” Hitler was that they can’t even think straight. They just want to live in this black and white world where they can slap labels on people like “psychopath” or “megalomaniac” or “genocidal lunatic”, just to make them feel better about themselves. It’s the worst form of virtue signaling. “Oh look at me,” they’re basically saying, “I didn’t start a World War, and a Holocaust, and kill millions of people-I’m so nice!”
And they barely even mention that Hitler was a vegetarian. Just think about all the innocent animals he spared! But do we ever hear about that? No, we just hear about all the innocent people he killed. Where’s the balance?
And whatever you think about his politics, you have to admit that Hitler was a genius marketer. I mean, just think about the swastika-that’s some next level branding. Sure he stole it from the Buddhists who’d used it for thousands of years as a symbol of peace, but ask yourself: when you see a swastika, do you think of peace? I doubt it. You can thank Hitler for that.
And let’s not forget about what a great persuader he was. I mean, he formed a real bond with millions of average Germans who found a sense of hope and optimism in his vision of a world domination and Aryan supremacy. A lot of these people felt overlooked and forgotten by the cosmopolitan elite, those gender-fluid Berliners sipping champagne at the cabarets and looking down their noses at everyday Germans, the volk, out there in German flyover country. That was until someone came along who was dismissed as a deranged clown by that same elite, but who was able to give a voice to those millions of disaffected Germans who were inspired by his promise to “Make Germany Great Again.” You could almost see why, for a lot of regular Germans, he took on the role of a kind of demigod, savior, and redeemer of the all things good, right, and holy. I’m just saying from their point of view.
And for the millionth time, I’m not saying Hitler was a great guy. I’m sure I probably wouldn’t have even voted for him (before he outlawed voting), even though all the choices were pretty bad, and the system was super corrupt and it needed someone to take on the entrenched bureaucracy, the “Deep State’ within the Weimar Republic. I mean, someone had to shake things up. I’m not saying it had to be Hitler, per se, but someone courageous and bold enough to take on all the socialists, globalists, and GINOs (Germans In Name Only).
And another thing you won’t hear mentioned in these documentaries was how funny Hitler was, and how it was a big reason why people loved him. That fact drives the haters crazy, but even they can’t deny that Hitler was hilarious! He had a great sense of timing (comic timing, as opposed to when-to-invade-Russia timing) and his ability to work a room was unmatched. Not to mention the fact that he was a brilliant physical comedian. It actually turns out that Charlie Chaplin stole his act. But you won’t hear that from our elite class of woke, HDS afflicted “historians”.
And look, I’m not even gonna go into the Autobahn, but, let’s face it, it’s not the worst thing to have a leader who knows how to build things.
First they came for the Nazis And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Nazi
Then they came for the Antisemites And I did not speak out
Because I was not an Antisemite
Then they came for Hamas...
One must stipulate that a civilized educated German systematically murdered over one million children only eighty years ago. Having so stipulated, I would observe that David Irving paints a nuanced picture of his behavior in "Hitler's War". I would also observe that when one sees Hitler screaming in front of a microphone, that was 1% of his total speech, and that most of his speeches were spoken and not shouted. He seldom "ranted and raved". You do nor hypnotize 30 million people by yelling at them.
